Specialization creates expertise
About Van Schaijk Tree Nursery
Van Schaijk Tree Nursery is a family business with a strong focus on cultivating standard stem plants. Since 2018, we have been passionately building a cultivation process where craftsmanship and reliability are central. At our nursery, we work daily on growing trees that excel in shape, uniformity, and vitality.
Our cultivation method is conscious and well-considered: through regular manual pruning, carefully staking the stems, and using no artificial fertilizers, the crowns develop into compact, full, and strong plants.

Our process: From whip to stem
1. Purchasing whips
2. Staking
3. Open ground
4. Potting
Purchasing whips
Every autumn, we purchase carefully selected whips from nurseries that specialize in them. These young trees form the ideal foundation for us to further cultivate into uniform, high-quality stems.
Staking the whips
After purchase, the whips are manually staked. This is done with great precision to ensure the stem grows perfectly straight. Our specialization in this process ensures strong and stable stems.
Planting the whips in the open ground
The staked whips are further cultivated in the open ground for 2 to 3 years. Through regular pruning, the stems develop compact branching and uniform growth, without the use of artificial fertilizers.
Potting the plants
The plants are potted in the winter. This ensures they remain available for delivery year-round and maintain their quality during transport and planting.
